Poor quality of ANC care due to unavailability of key clinical resources and expertise; late referrals; little or no attention to danger signs during pregnancy (bleeding, severe vomiting, abdominal pain/cramping, swelling in the hands/face/legs, persistent backache); poor medical equipment/skill sets at health facilities to ensure safe delivery.
