Angola

In less than 10 years Angola has emerged from the grip of civil conflict to become a recognised symbol of stability and economic development in today's Africa.

In partnership with the Angolan government Crown Agents has since 2001 delivered an ambitious self-funded programme to modernise its National Customs Directorate.

We have provided complete automation of Angola's customs processing system from declarations to guarantees, providing improved trade facilitation and a significant increase in revenue.

A WCO SAFE Framework of Standards diagnostic team visited Angola to evaluate the Customs organisation and drew the following conclusions:
"The Angolan Government's Customs Expansion and Modernisation Programme in partnership with Crown Agents has achieved impressive results, in particular the significant increase in Customs revenue from US$215.45 million in 2001 to US$1.061 billion in 2005."

From January 2011 we rolled out an Oil and Gas Information System application to enable the direct control, monitoring and reporting for lifting gas and oil products including the scheduling of port visits and vessel inspections.
Crown Agents has provided long-term specialist support in Angola encompassing a wide range of initiatives from institutional development and policy development to human resource development and business planning.
